This Vaccinate with Confidence campaign video shows one of the core points of the CDC’s “Vaccinate with Confidence Strategy” in action–collaborating with trusted messengers.
Pastor Diana Wingeler-Rayo of the Hughes United Methodist Church in Wheaton, Maryland is just such a trusted community leader. She saw an urgent need in her church and community for making vaccinations available in a trusted place. COVID-19 has hit black and brown people the hardest in so many ways. Many in her community are frontline workers and therefore at higher risk. To address vaccine accessibility and protect the Latinex community, she took a leading role in hosting a vaccination clinic at her church on a Saturday when community members could get there.
#VaccineConfident
As part of the American Pharmacists Association’s #VaccineConfident project, funded by the Centers for Disease Control, MiniMatters filmed and edited this Vaccinate with Confidence campaign video and 18 other videos. It shows Pastora Diana, pharmacists from a local pharmacy, and many volunteers pulling together to host this COVID-19 vaccination event for the community. As many in her audience are Spanish-speakers, this video is available in Spanish and English.
