Animated Video Character with Personality

It's possible for your animated video character to have a more human personality--and therefore connect with your audience!

This animated video, one of several MiniMatters produced to kick off modules in a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program, presents a character that its audience can relate to. Her facial expressions and eye, hand, and body movements convey the excitement of earning the certification as well as the daily challenges of doing the job, and is an example of our animated video services.

Animated characters effective for learning

Designers of the CNA training program knew that a character representing a beginning CNA would help students identify with the role and gain motivation to complete the online course. Finishing an online training program can be a challenge for their target audience, who come from diverse language backgrounds and may have limited education.

MiniMatters first worked with the instructional designers for this Yale School of Medicine project to create and refine the character to fit the target audience. Our animator then rigged the character and animated her in a way that allows for this wide range of emotion and thought bubbles that show an inner thought process. For example, this video brings to light one of the many challenges CNAs face when caring for a patient with Alzheimer's disease.

MiniMatters graphic design and animation team are highly capable of designing characters and animating them in a way that has personality, which takes a level of art and animation skill. We can even provide still graphics of the characters to use throughout the training materials.
